Hamvention cartoons for 2017

I advertised in my cartoons for the April and May 2017 issues of CQ Magazine that I would be blogging from Dayton Hamvention in Xenia, Ohio.

Well, about five weeks ago, I badly injured my back and have since been diagnosed with a herniated disc pressing on my left sciatic nerve. It caused tremendous pain and I wasn't sure I would make it to Hamvention (and I haven't missed one since 2000 or 2001).

I did make it to Hamvention, though walking was a little painful and standing was much, much worse.

(I was the one doing my stretching exercises while waiting in line for the parking shuttle. Someone came past and said, "I'll bet you have a herniated disc, right? Hurts like hell, don't it?" Give that man an autogtaphed copy of Lew McCoy on Antennas! And then I was doing my stretches on one of the picnic tables in the flea market, and someone sent a deputy sheriff over to make sure I was all right. I'm not all right, but I was all right, if you get my drift.)

I also did take my sketch book with me --- and made some cartoons --- but was too tired to finish them and post them each night.

So, I'll be posting them over the next few days here. Thanks for your patience, and be kind to your back!
